ADVOCACY
ALPHACTION wants to make quality literacy the center of attention on a national and international level in order to be at the forefront of political decision-making. Particular attention is given to the environment necessary to the development of literacy.

Quality literacy can have several different benefits depending on the context.
Literacy is a basic human right and an instrument for the pursuit of other human rights.
However, TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL BEING EXCLUDED FROM LITERACY:
► Literacy remains among the most neglected of education goals, with about 796 million adults lacking literacy skills today. Two-third are women.
► There are 67 million children out of school.
► Millions of children leave school without having acquired basic skills.
Having ascertained the lack of concrete answers concerning the issue of literacy, it is the intention of ALPHACTION to make it a PRIORITY.
